CHETI LEARNING PROGRAM

The Learning Program is designed to provide ongoing support to school teachers. Similar to Canadian teachers, those teaching in Tanzania benefit from upgrading their current skillset on a regular basis. Private English-Medium schools are rarely able to afford teacher training.
In July, 2014 two Waterloo Region ESL teachers, Carrie Mage and Terry Lawless, travelled to Arusha to provide an intensive teacher training program.. Click for more information on the training session.
Upon their return, both Carrie and Terry decided to lead the Learning Program..
Terry is focusing on in-class presentations to raise awareness of Mom2Mom Africa, and global issues, in local schools. Please contact us if you are interested in having a presentation done in your classroom!

Carrie is leading a library program for the students at C5. She is collecting brand new books to send to CHETI to help foster a love of reading and lifelong learners. Carrie is accepting donations of new books (pre-school to middle school) in English and Swahili, as well as gift cards to purchase books. Donor names appear inside the books! In addition, cash donations to support the shipment of the books would be greatly appreciated! Please contact us for more information or to donate to the library.
