OUR MISSION
To empower students in Tanzania, and supporters worldwide, through education.
OUR VISION
Our vision is to support our Tanzanian students in their quest for quality education, so that they may become self-reliant members of their communities, lifting their families and villages out of poverty. In doing so, we hope to inspire our members, of all ages, to become globally aware and empathetic members of society.
OUR STORY

Initially, Mom2Mom Africa was a project undertaken by Alison Fraser (Founder and Director) to raise awareness in her local community about the challenges that young women face in Africa to receiving a quality education. Alison was inspired by stories from a good friend, Jessica Hogendoorn, living and teaching in Tanzania at the time. She decided to hold a small backyard fundraiser with friends and family to help send a young woman (Rob Chekwaze's sister), who befriended Jessica, back to school. The fundraiser was a financial success. However, what really inspired Alison was the response from those who attended the event. People were inspired and wanted to do more. Subsequent fundraisers saw greater attendance and the response to the project was overwhelming. Alison subsequently decided to register Mom2Mom Africa as an official Canadian Not-for-Profit Organization and involve others in supporting Mom2Mom Africa. What started several years ago as a project to send a young woman in Tanzania back to school is now an official organization that funds the educational needs of more than 74 boys and girls, supports the education of CHETI School teachers and inspires global awareness in all involved.

OUR LOGO

Our logo was designed to reflect the core values and mission of Mom2Mom Africa. The earthy tones represent the grassroots, down-to-earth nature of the organization. The upward facing hands reflect our mission to empower students through education, essentially offering them a supportive hand so that they can turn their educational goals into reality. The sun, a source of life that unites us all, signifies the bright futures that education brings to our students and the global awareness that comes to those involved in Mom2Mom Africa.
