URAFIKI PROGRAM
Urafiki means friendship in the language of Kiswahili. As part of this program, you and your family will support the education of a child in Arusha, Tanzania. Your family will be given the rare opportunity to be part of a Tanzanian family through the sharing of stories, letters and pictures. We encourage all Urafiki Program families to involve their children as much as possible in building a relationship with their Urafiki friend in Arusha.
Your monthly donation will pay for a child to be educated at a CHETI School and fed a meal each day. Children are selected for the Urafiki Program by both the Mom2Mom Africa Board of Directors and the Director and Founder of CHETI School. We encourage families to continue their commitment in the Urafiki Program until students complete standard 7 (equivalent to grade 7). At that point children can continue in a publicly funded secondary school. There are also opportunities to support the education of these children and youth in secondary school and post-secondary school.
Your entire donation (100%) goes directly to a child’s education and their meals at the school. Mom2Mom Africa administrative costs are all supported by other fundraising efforts.
